Located in the disputed Alsace region, Konzentrationslager Natzweiler-Struthof was established in 1941. Medical experiments, mass murder and forced labour to support the Nazi war machine all took place at Natzweiler. Late in 1944, the Allies discovered the site abandoned. Of the near 52,000 people deported to Natzweiler-Struthof and its complex of sub-camps, approximately 22,000 died.
Only one example of Natzweiler-Struthof currency has been confirmed to date, a 1944 pattern Prämienschein. It is a punched .50RM example.
